Penzance Victory Parade Veterans and members of the Royal British Legion took part in a parade on Sunday 12 June in Penzance to commemorate Victory in Europe Day. Led by the band of the Royal Marines with the Cornwall Caledonian Pipe Band and the HMS Seahawk Volunteer Band, the parade, which included military vehicles dating from the 1940's, marched along the promenade to the war memorial where a short service was followed by the laying of wreaths. A flypast by aircraft from RNAS Culdrose brought the event to a close.

The new memorial at carn Brea A new War Memorial to commemorate the men of Carn Brea who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War 1, World War 2 and Palestine was dedicated at 11:00 on 23rd April at Treloweth Community Hall.

Cllr Malcolm Moyle welcomed everyone to the service before the dedication by the Reverend Kippax and Lady Mary Holborow.

On completion of the 'Last Post' wreaths were laid by Legion and Service Organisation representatives whilst the Chairman of the Royal British Legion in Cornwall, Roy Barratt read out the names of the fallen.
